The
Allan Water Bridge:
The bridge over the allan water was the starting
point from which the village began. It gave the village its name
and today still provides an important focal point for visitors
to the village. The original structure was a traditional stone
built humped back bridge that was replaced during the Victorian
era because of the steady increase of agricultural and holiday
traffic moving through bridge of allan to the north. There are weirs
either
side of the bridge which used to control the level and direction
of the water to a local mill of which is now residential property.
